The 1919 World Series was the most anticipated World Series ever. The Chicago White Sox looked dominant, while the Cincinnati Reds were a team on the rise. After the Reds win it in 8 games (it was a 9 game series) it was found that the series was actually fixed by the White Sox.  There were many gamblers involved in the fix, but in the end 8 White Sox players were banned from baseball for involvement in the fix.
